Format Painter in Doratoon enables you to upload an audio file that can be inserted in your presentations, record your voice directly using a microphone, or use the built-in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Synthesis to convert text to speech. All the three processes are explained below:
After launching Doratoon on your favorite web browser (Google Chrome here) and starting a new work (project), you can use any of the following options:
Option 1: Using AI Synthesis
Step 1: Get to the Scene Page
Ensure that the Scene category is selected in the left pane, and click to select the scene page you want to add an audio to.
Step 2: Select AI synthesis as an Audio Input Option
Click Format painter from the toolbox at the top of the interface, and click AI synthesis. When the confirmation box pops up, either choose current page or full video to add the audio only to the scene page that is selected or for the entire video presentation respectively.
Step 3: Define Audio Preferences
Choose your preferred voice from the Voice center list, and use the Speed slider to set the tempo of the audio.
Step 4: Generate Audio and Add It to the Video
In the input field, enter the text that you want to have audio for. Click Audio preview from the lower part of the box to see how AI synthesis converted your text to the audio. If everything looks acceptable, click Add to video to add the audio to your animation.
Option 2: Upload an Audio File
Step 1: Get to the Scene Page and Upload an Audio File
Use the method explained in the previous ‘Option’ to select the scene page you want to add an audio to, click the Format painter icon from the toolbox at the top, click Upload from the available options, and locate and upload an audio clip to Doratoon.
Step 2: Choose the Scope of the Audio
When the confirmation box pops up, choose either current page or full video to specify whether the audio should be limited to the selected scene page only, or should it play throughout the video respectively.
Step 3: Set Up Audio Preferences
Use the Volume slider to increase or decrease the volume of the audio you uploaded. Optionally, you can click the Add background music (+) button to add another audio clip. You can even click the Record icon to record your own voice using a microphone. And of course, you can click the Delete icon to get rid of the sound altogether.
Option 3: Add Voiceover
Before proceeding further, make sure that a good quality microphone is connected to your computer, and that it is functioning properly.
Step 1: Get to the Scene Page and Open Format Painter
Use the method explained earlier to get to and select the scene page you want to add an audio to, and click Format painter from the toolbox at the top.
Step 2: Choose Record directly
Click Record directly from the available options. Click Allow on the microphone access confirmation box that pops up next, and start recording your voice with the microphone.
